Standardisation at the National Library
For performing standardisation in librarianship the Expert Council for Standardisation was formed at the National Library that cooperates with the Estonian Centre for Standardisation and the Technical Committee of the Centre.
The National Library of Estonia publishes and distributes the NLE standards as web publications. The implementation of the NLE standards in the National Library of Estonia is obligatory; in other libraries it is recommendatory.
Information and Documentation standardisation focuses on the area of librarianship, archives records, document management, museum documentation, publishing, informatics, etc.
