The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) enables registered readers of the National Library of Estonia to request literature that is not available in our library from other Estonian (except Tallinn) and foreign libraries.
Request form for items
- You can request books and sheet music.
- You cannot request reference publications, periodicals, manuscripts, Bachelor and Master Theses, maps, and audio-visuals.
- Before submitting your request, please check the availability of the item in the online catalogue ESTER.
- Requests will be supplied within
3-5 days from Estonia
2-3 weeks from the Nordic countries
1-2 months from Central Europe
2-4 months from Russia and the USA.
- The loan period for items (2-4 weeks) will be set by the supplying library; the renewal is not possible.
- The customer will pay postage costs for returning the item (prices EUR for domestic and international maxi letters).
- The customer will be notified about the arrival of requested literature by phone or e-mail.
- Requested items will be delivered to the reader in the Reference Reading Room.
- Requested items may be used only in the Reading Rooms of the National Library of Estonia
- You can request copies of articles issued in printed publications and available in the licensed databases.
- Before submitting your request we suggest that you check the availability of e-journals in our Library.
- If you do not know all the details necessary for requesting an article, please submit your enquiry and order to a reference librarian who will check the availability of the article in the licensed databases or will specify the details.
