Library cards are issued upon request to anyone from the age of 16 or younger (if the applicant is attending high school) on the basis of the registration application form and personal identity document. Children under the age of 16 are registered as readers on the basis of a written consent by a parent or guardian. The consent form is available at the Information Desk and on the Library homepage - nousolek.pdf (in Estonian).

The library card is issued for 3 years. The library card provides access to the Library and gives the right to use all the services provided by the Library. The charge for the library card is 50 EEK. Discount cards are issued on the basis of a valid document. The fee for the discount card is 25 EEK for retired citizens and it is free of charge for people with disabilities. Library cards are issued for the exclusive use of the holder and may not be passed to another person. Loss of a library card or changes in personal details should be reported via e-mail: registratuurnlib.ee or by calling 630 7405.

The PIN number is issued upon reader registration. The PIN number ensures the security of your personal data as well as your lending activities in the database of the NLE readers. You may substitute the original PIN number with a one suitable for you. This can be done at the online catalogue terminal or via the Internet at tallinn.ester.ee/patroninfo*est.
In case you have forgotten the PINnumber, please click on the Forgot your PIN? link on Library login page tallinn.ester.ee/search or contact the Registration Desk, e-mail: registratuurnlib.ee

A visitor’s card, valid for 1 day, is issued upon request to anyone from the age of 16 or younger (if the applicant is attending high school) on the basis of the registration application form and personal identity document. The visitor’s card enables access to card files, catalogues, databases, materials on the open shelves, and access to exhibitions. It does not, however, permit ordering publications from the stacks. The charge for the visitor’s card is 5 EEK.
