The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) enables to order literature not available in the National Library of Estonia from other libraries in Estonia as well as abroad.

• Please enquire the consultant of the Reference Reading Room on the 5th floor about placing and order, issuing and returning of publications
• Books, printed music, and copies magazine and newspaper articles can be ordered. It is not possible to order encyclopedias, periodicals, manuscripts and documents published with manuscript rights (such as graduation theses) and maps. The reader will be notified of the arrival of the publication via phone or e-mail.
• The ILL services are charged (except when ordering from other libraries in Estonia)
  - the reader will pay for its shipping costs back to the original location (in Estonia or abroad)
  - the price of a copy is 4 EEK per page
  - the National Library will cover the costs of ordering and the real cost of copying etc.
• The shipping deadlines depend on the original location of the publication and they are estimated to be the following:
  - Estonia: 3 - 7 days
  - Nordic countries: 2 -3 weeks
  - Central Europe: 1 - 3 months
  - Russia and the USA: 2 - 4 months
  The delivery time depends mostly on the library sending out the publication and on the post service.
• The usage period of the publication is determined by the library sending the publication; it is usually between 2 - 4 weeks.
